Tools of the trade
Would you like to save time, keep track of your activities to understand what’s working and what’s not and save money on pricey freelancers?
I’ve compiled a list of all the tools I use in my own business that will also help you with yours. I’ve spent hours researching different tools over the years so this list is designed to save you the hassle.
(Some links are affiliate links which means that should you like what you see and make a purchase, I will make a small commission)
AKA Email Marketing Software that will save you LOTS OF TIME and give you intelligent insights into your marketing activities. I spent a long time comparing marketing automation software and would recommend Force24 over Hubspot, Marketo and Infusionsoft anyday.
Website Tracking Software
This tool is amazing for the price and will give you a snap shot of where your website ranks and performs
Webinars are an amazing way to engage with your audience, demonstrate software and present ideas and strategies. I use ZOOM webinar for all my webinars and love it because you can also livestream to Facebook and YouTube too! I’ve used tools like WebinarJam and GoToWebinar before but prefer Zoom for ease of use and reliability.
Creating content for Social Media can be time consuming and I love using Social Bee to keep track of my social media content and organise it in libraries. I only schedule my content on Twitter but I manage all my content through Social Bee. I also use it to help me grow my Twitter account too. It’s brilliant and I’ve been using it for nearly 2 years now.
DIVI Website Theme
I didn’t want to have to pay for a landing page builder like Clickfunnels or LeadPages and then figured out that you can build amazing landing pages on your WordPress site. I use DIVI as my website theme because it’s REALLY easy to use and has a visual builder. Plus there are lots of templates you can use for landing pages too!
The majority of my clients are overseas and remote so I hold 80% of my strategy, coaching and consultation calls as a video call. I much prefer this to just a phone call too! Zoom works wonderfully for this and you can get by easily with the free version too! Zoom is also a great tool for recording video interviews for Podcasts as well!
Trello is an incredible tool and I use it to manage my sales leads when I don’t have access to a CRM. I also use it for day to day task management, Quarterly and Annual Business Planning and also to keep track of all those good ideas I have that I need to ‘park for now’ instead of run with and get distracted. Trello is free and an absolute no brainer – you can integrate it with Slack too and is great for team collaboration – especially for a leadership team to manage progress on quarterly priorities!
Slack is a communication tool that can literally eliminate the hassle of having to go back and forth via email with your team. It allows you to keep in touch with everyone — and it even connects to other tools you use, so you won’t have to switch between apps.
I’m a big reader and fan of audible and find myself re-reading and re-listening to some of my favourite books beacuse I’m always learning new things from them.
A daily habit i formed over a year ago was to also read a book summary and I’ve tried lots of different options over the years – this is my absolute favourite – ReadInGraphics – not only do you get audio summaries of your favourite books but you also get an info graphic summary meaning some of the key points in the book really sink in and become clear. Give it a try and I’d be surprised if you ever go back!
Create shareable social media images, cover photos, even video thumbnails in no time – no design skills required (they have LOADS of cool templates you can use)
You can get by really well with the Free version however the paid version is less than £10 a month and allows to to save colours and fonts and easily resize images – for example social media banners!
